Magical Lapland – Your Gateway to Arctic Adventures!

Magical Lapland Kemi – Small Groups, Big Arctic Moments

We believe the best experiences happen when things stay small. That’s why our tours are limited to intimate groups or fully private excursions. We start our guided tours from Kemi, Finland and with us you can wander snowy paths, relax by a crackling fire after ice fishing, and watch the northern lights in peaceful solitude. With us, Lapland feels like your own secret place.

I found the offer, while looking for aurora trip. It stands out from other aurora trips, as its not a typical one, you don’t just drive to one location to just wait for the aurora, This trip offers you an experience to walk through frozen sea and explore abandoned island with cozy bbq to warm up and eventually see the auroras. The host is knowledgable about the place and cares for customers, we felt like he truly cared for our safety and our good time. I would highly recommend this trip to people that don’t want to just sit and wait, but want to learn a lot about the place and experience something unusual.

At first we got provided with heat pads we could put in our shoes and gloves. Our guide Saku was very well prepared and brought everything you need while waiting for the Auroras (hot juice, bbq, snacks, firewood etc.) Although it was extremely cold he managed to keep us warm with a campfire, blankets and pillows. He taught us some facts about Kemi which made the walking & waiting interersting. We definitely would recommend this tour and him as a guide! 🙂

Northern Lights Walk to Old Kemi with BBQ and Arctic Views

Your Arctic adventure begins at the iconic Kemi Snowcastle, where you will meet your guide. From there, we embark on a spectacular 1-kilometer trek across the frozen expanse of the northern sea, a truly unique experience. Our destination is the historical island of Laitakari, home to a serene, snow-covered forest and the atmospheric ruins of Old Kemi.

We will journey 500 meters deeper into the island’s tranquility to reach a specially prepared shelter. Here, the warmth and glow of a crackling campfire awaits. Settle in to enjoy some BBQ, hot berry juice, and cookies. This extended period offers ample opportunity to explore the fascinating ruins and absorb the peaceful, isolated atmosphere. Most importantly, with the fire keeping you warm and comfortable, you will have a prime, undisturbed location for spotting the majestic Aurora Borealis. This is not just a walk; it is an immersive expedition into the history and untouched beauty of the Arctic night.

Meet Your Guide

My name is Saku, and I was born and raised right here in Kemi. Lapland’s nature, seasons, and traditions have been a part of my life since childhood, and it’s a joy to now share this beautiful region with visitors from around the world.

I’ve been an entrepreneur for almost 15 years, gaining extensive experience in customer service and learning what truly makes a moment memorable. During the past few winters, I’ve worked as a guide and discovered how much I enjoy helping people explore the Arctic in a safe, personal, and meaningful way.

Now, I’m excited to welcome you to my own guiding business, where every tour is shaped with care, local knowledge, and a genuine passion for Lapland. Whether we’re snowshoeing, ice fishing, or hunting the northern lights, my goal is to offer you an experience that feels authentic, relaxed, and truly connected to this place I call home.
